About Course
This course on Corporate Finance in Islamic Finance will provide an in-depth understanding of the financial management of corporations in compliance with Islamic laws and principles. The course will cover key concepts such as financial planning and forecasting, capital budgeting, working capital management and financial risk management in the context of Islamic finance.
The course will begin by introducing the principles of Islamic finance and the prohibition of riba (interest) in Islamic law. It will then delve into the various Islamic financial products and structures that are used to raise funds and manage financial risks, such as musharaka (partnership) and mudharabah (profit and loss sharing).
Students will learn about the various types of Islamic financial instruments such as sukuk (Islamic bonds) and murabahah (cost-plus financing), and how they are used in corporate finance. The course will also cover the management of liquidity and funding in Islamic finance, including the use of wadiah (safekeeping) and qard (loan) contracts.
